'Cut Throat Rock' won first prize in the Brewery Arts Centre open while 'Alachai Mor V' got a commendation from the judges.
Exhibitions 2012
2012 is shaping up to be a busy year. So far I've booked in six exhibitions, two of them solo shows. As well as all this, I will taking part in the Silverdale Art Trail
'EFFORTLESS BRUSHSTROKES' (11th February - 14th April) Falmouth Art Gallery and Beside The Wave - Razor Rock will be hanging in Falmouth Art gallery as part of a collaborative exhibition with Beside The Wave Gallery in Falmouth, where I will have several other paintings. I'm very pleased to be involved in this as I think Falmouth Art Gallery host some very good shows and it also re-establishes my links to the place, having been a student at the Falmouth School of Art
LINTON COURT GALLERY, SETTLE. Solo Show. Date to be confirmed. Looks like it's going to happen in April. This gallery feels like the right environment for me to put together many ideas which are bubbling away inside me. I'm developing some themes which I've been very much holding back on and seeing the influences of the likes of Rauscenberg and Peter Blake coming through. These are exciting times down at the studio.
MAIDEN BRIDGE GALLERY, TATHAM (Mid May). I will have about fifteen paintings in the Maiden Bridge mixed exhibition this year
'30 DAYS OF LIGHT' (23rd July - 5th August). Solo Exhibition in Shetland - Really thrilled to be exhibiting in Da Gadderie, Lerwick Museum. This will consist of the paintings I did whilst on Shetland this year and will hopefully include a few new oils. So if you're cruising around the North Sea this summer be sure to drop by.
'ABOVE AND BEYOND' (August 11th - ). Farfield Mill, Sedbergh. I'm sharing the Howgill Gallery with Tracey Levine. My intention is to show some of the Shetland work which will be fresh back from it's oddyssey.
GALLERY TRESCO (October). Again, if you're cruising the seven seas at this time, make a beeline for the sunny climes of Scilly. I'll have work produced during my recent stay on Tresco.
Workshops
Monday 20th February, 10am to 4pm. I will be running a watercolour workshop in Burton-in-Lonsdale village hall.
